This does exactly what it's supposed to do: allow the use of a K/PK mount lens with an EOS mount body. The dandelion chip gives focus confirmation most of the time -- the adapter is slight loose on the lens side, and every once in a while the adapter's chip will be slightly off the camera's chip, making the camera think it can't take the picture... It's a rare occurrence, however, and I've found this adapter to come in extremely useful for using my Pentax lenses on my Canon EOS 60D for shooting video.

First, you will not be able to focus to infinity with this adapter. But I knew that going in, it's still a bit of a drag.Instructions - the adapter has a red dot on both sides - the flat side goes to your lens - it doesn't really matter which goes on first, just line up the dots - screw clockwise until it locks - done.Taking off is a bit tougher. Remove lens and adapter from camera the usual way - to remove adapter from lens, locate a springy little strip of metal - press down while turning clockwise. I have to hold my tongue just right to get it.That's about it other than my Canon T2i was flickering in film mode, like it was trying to auto-adjust the exposure. So, I simply put a piece of tape over the adapter's contacts. Solved.

No problem so far with the functionality - the focus-confirm contacts work, and I get a beep from the camera to tell me the area under the selected point is in focus. However, the fit is not great. There's a spring catch that is supposed to lock the adapter ring to the lens, but to begin with it wasn't tight enough and there was a real danger that the lens would fall off the camera when adjusting the aperture, as there was less resistance on the lock spring than on the aperture ring. I bent out the spring a little to make a more positive 'lock' and that seems to stop in unscrewing - but it's still a rattly, sloppy fit. The lens feels loose in its mount, and there's a little 'play', so it rotates about a 2-3mm turn. Maybe there's a way of tightening the fit (duct tape!?) - I'll experiment further. But it does the job of making a PK fit lens attach to a Canon EOS (T2i in my case). Hope this helps!
