This is especially useful when taking advantage of the camera's Movie Mode, Live View Mode and other operating modes that use more power. Furthermore, the BG-E9 provides full vertical shooting controls, which can be independently turned on or off as the photographer needs to enhance camera handling, especially for shooting vertical pictures.

By carter302
After spending $1500 on a camera and lens I really did not want to spend another $200 on a Canon battery grip for my camera. I found information about this grip on several forums and they were all positive so I took a chance and ordered it. Shipping was fast and I was very impressed with the build quality of the grip. I compared it to a actual Canon grip that I have on my Rebel Xti and in my opinion build quality is on par with the more expensive Canon. As far as compatibility the camera recognizes the grip in the menu and also recognizes how many batteries are installed so all functions integrate completely with the camera. I am very satisfied with this grip and the seller. It arrived quickly via USPS Priority Mail and there were no issues at all. I would highly recommend this grip to 60D owners who dont't want to spend the money for a Canon branded one.

By Lancelot
I bought this accessory for my Canon EOS 60D to give it a more professional look. The low price had me concerned that I might have a problem with it. But, I haven't had any problems. I attached it to my camera as soon as it arrived. It fit well and looked great. There are a set of controls in the base that mimic that shutter release and other controls on the camera and allow you to hold the camera vertically but operate the camera as though you were holding it horizontally. There is also a switch so you can turn off the controls in the battery pack to keep from accidentally taking pictures or changing you settings. Overall, I am very impressed that such a low-priced "knockoff" can look like original equipment and function so well. I haven't tried it with with AA batteries, but it is nice to know that if I ever find myself in a place where I can't recharge my camera battery, I will still be able to take pictures with batteries from the drug store!Update: I just tried to put AA batteries in. Apparently I was wrong. Use of AA batteries is not a feature of this nattery grip. Still like it, though.

By Heather
I've been using this grip on my 60D for about a month and it's great. It's well built and communicates with the camera, with no problems. It also adds a nice balance when I have a larger, heavier lens attached to the camera. I have smaller hands and it doesn't feel too bulky. All around it's a great battery grip and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend the $ on the Canon grip.
