I could not for the life of me make this product to work. My T3i responds really well to the Canon remote. However, the Photive RC-4 just does not do anything. I frantically pressed all the buttons, yet nothing happened. I do not recommend this item.

I ordered this remote to work with my Canon T3i. It works smoothly. You can only use the top 2 buttons with a DSLR. either instant shutter or 2 seconds delay. The other options are for non DSLR cameras( according to an online forum I read). All you have to do is set your camera to accept signal from a remote. On the T3i this can be done through a separate button just on top of the circular main button area. When you click that follow the options on the LCD screen to choose that indicates remote symbol as well. Then you are done.I need the remote as I am planning to use my telescope to take pictures and I do not want to touch it to avoid any vibrations. I did not try that yet, but I tried the remote and it functions perfectly. There are no instructions that come along, but it was not that hard to figure it out. By the way, you cannot beat the price, about $9. it is a steal compared to $20-$30 with original canon remotes that would do the same job.
