It's listed as a Canon battery, but I guess the go around is "Replacement." I was in a hurry, new camera, wanted some back up power for testing 5D Mk III, so I hit the order button. I didn't check on the delivery date, but it seemed like a long time between ordering and receipt which at the price isn't a deal breaker for me. I plugged in number 1 to the Canon charger. I did all the normal things, lights flashing and was topped off in a relatively short period of time. I put that one in the camera and the 2nd replacement in the charger. Same action. Lights flashing, short period of time, and the full indication.Both replacements went in the camera and fit like the Canon original, both register on the camera and indicate 100% charge by going in to the menu. So far, I am still using the first replacement battery (Charged the Canon original and put it in my case). No problems. I will update this review if I have problems of if the number of pictures seem low. So far, so good.They come packaged in a small plastic bubble envelope, and there is no cover. At the price I didn't expect one. I haven't found any on the internet yet, but in my search did find some for the BP-511 batteries. Since these are new, the covers may be hard to find for awhile. I just kept the plastic bubble envelopes for carrying.

I purchased three as spare/replacement for my Canon 7D and 5D III. So far all three are working well. Grab a few if you plan to go on a long trip and/or do extended photo shoots.

Product workeds well, It was just wanted I needed for my Cannon 7D camera with no complaints. The cost was more than Reasonable. I great way to stay powered!
