By J
I had my eye on this lens set for a week before I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. I had my doubts after reading some of the reviews and also because of the price (pretty cheap compared to the $1000 sets I see selling on Amazon) but after testing out all the included parts I can say without a doubt this was definitely a great buy. I highly recommend this kit for anyone who wants to have fun with their cameras without spending a fortune. For beginners this kit works cause its definitely not worth spending tons of money for a lens you don't know how to use. For more advanced photographers I think these items work in occasions where you just don't want to carry a heavy or super expensive lens (like when hiking outdoors or traveling abroad).LENSES: The lenses are MUCH better than I would have expected for the price. The wide angle itself is worth the cost of the kit alone. I am NOT saying these are the same quality as $400 brand name professional lenses, but I do think that these lenses are more than good enough for beginners to more advanced photographers for the price. I am a photography enthusiast that doesn't have the money to spend on professional equipment so I am happy. Lenses were well built, high quality looking and even came in protective pouches. I used the wide angle to get some great group shots and was very pleased with the results. I was able to fit almost twice as much into my shot compared to no wide angle. The telephoto zoom added a nice little effect, not too much, but for the price it was still nice to have.FILTERS: Filters fit perfectly and worked as advertised. Very satisfied!MACRO FILTER KIT: These filters looked and felt like quality products. The wide angle lens also come with a detachable macro lens that allows for amazing close up macro photos. I will post some of my photos here this weekend. These macro filters work more like magnifying lenses and can be stacked one on top of the other to take high detail shots of flowers or coins or whatever.LENS HOOD: No surprises here. I've owned plenty of lens hoods in my time. Not original Canon brand but well made, sturdy, and gets the job done. (Definitely not worth paying for a name brand hood.)CLEANING SUPPLIES: Like others reviewers have said, a nice little bonus. The microfibers were awesome. Came individually wrapped. They are much better than the free microfibers I get from my optometrist. I used them on my Iphone and Ipad.RING ADAPTERS: This kit fit my 58mm Canon EF-S 18-55mm lens like a charm so I have no need for the adapter rings at the moment but they are nice to have in case I need them in the future. They are made of metal and are lightweight. All in all, very happy with the purchase. I was not looking to spend too much money and for less than $100 this was a bargain by any standard. The entire ordering process was a breeze. I received my package in 4 days and it even included a hand signed note from the owner of the company guaranteeing 100% satisfaction. Nice products, awesome service and a reasonable price. I give this kit 5 stars. (I have to say one more thing: to buy a set of lenses and filters like this and judge them negatively the way some of the other reviewers have done I think is just being unfair and not helpful to everyone else. I almost did not buy it cause of the few negative reviews but I'm glad I did cause I got more than what I paid for. If you want professional lenses then don't buy this set. This kit is great FOR THE PRICE!) Hope my review helped!

By Amy
1st, I will buy from Digital Gojo again, without a doubt. Their customer service department is one of the best that I have encountered in YEARSTherefore, this review should not hinder anyone from purchasing products from them.In short, I returned my kit. Why? The wide angle lens add on, cracked off and was basically stuck on top of my $200+ Canon Lens. Half on, half off.As a photography novice, I went to the Amazon Discussion Boards for assistance in removing the lens from my Canon as the regular contributors ALWAYS seem to know what's up. In addition to helping me remove it (ice to shrink aluminum and tape to reattach to remove lens adaptor in one piece), a gentleman who I have interacted with on the boards before wrote this regarding the Essential Kit for Canon Rebel:"Out of that "kit", the $10 cleaning kit may be useful...The fluorescent correction filter is a left-over from the days of film when common film was "daylight", and specialists would buy "tungsten" for use with studio hot-lights. No film was manufactured to respond properly to fluorescent lighting (which is basically a bright peak of green spectrum -- the magenta colored filter blocks some of the green from the light). Digital cameras all control white balance electronically (normally set to "auto", but you should find daylight/cloud/fluorescent/tungsten/custom/flash settings also). The wide/tele adapters were really created for use on cameras that don't have interchangeable lenses (most P&S and video cameras -- and a good optic is not cheap; I think I paid around $140 for the Canon tele converter and attachment ring for my old G2 P&S -- the wide adapter is even more costly... so you can guess what the quality of the optics in this kit must be). Using a tele-adapter is only meaningful at the long end of a telephoto zoom range -- anything shorter is already covered by the zoom lens without putting a poor quality unit on the end.The UV and Polarizer are probably cheap $10-15 uncoated filters... a good polarizer runs $50-100 alone. The close-focus set may be usable, but not really good. Single element lenses tend to produce chromatic (rainbow fringes) aberrations; especially on the edges. Having said that, I have to confess I do own a set. They are most effective on telephoto lenses (a +1 says the close-up "lens" can focus an object at 1m distance, and most regular focal length lenses already focus at half a meter). If you really find you use these, it would be worth considering either a true macro lens, or a dual element close-up "lens" (Canon 250D -- must have the D -- is a +4).Lens hoods have to be designed for certain focal lengths (the shortest focal length of a zoom). Otherwise they don't do anything useful (putting a telephoto hood on a wide angle lens will result in blocking light from the edge of the scene; a wide angle hood on a telephoto won't block side light from the lens at all). The gradated blue and orange-red may offer some use -- but you need to go into a manual white balance for best effect. Auto white balance will try to neutralize the tint which will have the opposite effect on the clear part of the scene."Would I buy this kit again -- no. A lot of bells and whistles for a collection of products that I have little use for afterallWould I buy from DigitalGoja again -- absolutelyHope this helps!

By Bob
I've been looking for some lenses but never wanted to pay 200+ for them. These lens kits were awesome. I went out to Charleston for my first time and had a lot to aim my new additions at. The close up filters were awesome. I had some of those shots that you see in Biology text books. Now for my lab classes I think I will be able to refer to my own photos instead of the books. The only problem I had is with the other filter. the CPL, UV, and FL. once you put one of the lens on top of them they can potentially come off of the main lens with the slightest bump. One of mine did when I had the UV filter then the Wide Angle Lens Adapter on top of it. It fell of when I barely adjusted it. I was a little embarassed, however to my surprise I picked up my lens off the concrete ground without a blemish. These are Durbale peices, something I turly like but watch out for the filters themselves. All in All Great Buy
