away. To use, simply plug the remote into your camera's remote jack. The Remote Switch works just like your shutter button... press the release button halfway and autofocus is activated (shutter release speed and aperture settings are also set). Press the button all the way to fire the shutter.

Excellent replacement for Canon RS60 E3

I bought this because I thought I had lost my Canon RS60 E3. I found the Canon unit and then compared both of them. I'm using them on a 5D Mark II. The Canon unit is built slightly (and I do mean slightly better). The Canon has a metal covered connector going into the camera however it is much more difficult to remove than the Bower unit. The Bower unit has a shutter lock like the Canon and is also very easy to do a pre-focus push before completing the shutter release. The Canon unit is over twice the price which I think is ridiculous. After seeing both side by side I would buy the Bower.

Works as Well as You Could Hope

The best thing I can say about this remote release is that you won't notice it's not a Canon product when you're using it. In fact, I hardly notice anything at all about it, except that it works. It's solidly built, has a nice feel to the button, and doesn't cause me to think about it when I'm taking pictures. It does the job it's built to do, so it gets 5 stars from me.
