This adapter works great for what it is designed for. it simply adapts the canon lens to a sony e mount. It does not allow the electronics to transfer thru- but for $24.00 you can't expect that. I put the canon lens on a canon camera - open the aperture all the way - then put the lens on the adapter and use it on my sony camera - I'll use the shutter to adjust the light level. works well. and the adapter fits very well. It removes easily as long as you push the small silver button on the adapter!

I ran into same problem as the previous posts. Took me little while to figure out the kinks. First, you need to change your camera setting to receive other lens by enabling "Release w/o Lens" mode from your "Setup". Your other lens will only operate in manual focus mode also with your aperture fully open. To release your lens from the adapter, you will need to slide the lever toward your lens while you twist the lens not pushing in or pulling out the lever (umbrella looking thing). Once you work out the kinks, it does it's job if you don't mind adjusting your focus manually. I guess it is what it is for $50 equipment...

By Nope
The adapter doesn't work with my Sony NEX-3. Not even with manual focus. And the worst of all, once you use it with one lens it wouldn't come off. It is stuck forever, so you are not going to be able to use the lense anymore. Not with the Sony since it is not compatible at all, not with the Canon since the "adaptor" is stuck!
