I was attracted to this item by it's price, but was won over by the quality of build, natural feel and ease of use. I've only used it a few times, but operation was flawless. The operation is just as pressing the shutter release on the camera, with visible LEDs on the receiver that indicate the half and full press of the transmitter button on the remote. It's use is absolutely intuitive. The build of the product is clean and solid. I have not tried to gauge the transmitting distance beyond the approx. 50 ft. line of site distance from one end of my home to the other indoors through 2 open doorways. It worked just as if I was in the immediate proximity of the receiver. I am a part time professional photographer and highly recommend this product.

Wireless Remote Trigger Switch For Canon EOS 5D / 7D / 50D / 1D, 1Ds Mark II & III Fully Compatible with Canon RS-80N3First, I'd like to say that this is a wonderful little remote control for my camera (Canon EOS 5D). Let me make this easy by talking about both pros and cons of my purchase.PROS: - Comes in as being described. - The response of this remote is taken almost like immediately, so it's good when you have to capture some movement quickly. - The size is super small making it easy to hold and hide in your hand in self-portrait. - I don't have any problem with the channels so far, so I can't tell how it really works. However, it does have 16 channels as being described. When I use it in an interference environment, I will be able to tell how it works. I don't think this is a problem at all. - The receiver is very light weight, so it doesn't harm your camera. This is a big advantage of this product since you don't want to plug a heavy receiver in your camera and it could make your camera felt off the tripod or something. And if it were heavy, it could affect the part where you plug the cable in to the camera. - Easy to setup and operate. Just make sure you turn off the receiver and the camera before you plug the receiver in. Make sure the receiver and the transmitter are on the same channel. Turn on the receiver, and then the camera. You are ready to go! - I haven't tested the maximum distance it could work, but so far I have no problem with this within 20 feet which is good enough. I will test it tomorrow and let you guys know. - The power consumption design is also a good thing. Even though I have not got to the maximum period of use, but I took 400 pictures so far with this and no problem of low power. - There are three modes available. Single shutter, continuous shutter (you can set your camera in continuous mode and do like you do in single shutter mode) and Buld shutter by press the button for over 3 seconds. One thing I like about the remote control is that even though I don't set my camera in continuous mode, I can still shoot continuously by pressing the button continuously. Because of the quick response, you can really shoot continuously. However, it depends on what your camera is. - For any mode, you just need to put your thump on one button. That is excellent! Not like some remote controls with 3-5 different buttons and most of them are useless. You can shoot without checking whether your thump is on the right button or not. - The shipping is extremely fast. I get it in 3 days; and surprisingly, I get it on Saturday.Ok! Now there are somethings I have to point out, and I was actually really frustrated when I first opened it.CONS: - The package looks just fine, but the remote control box has been opened. ????? I don't know why and when, but I think that the shipping process or mail man has nothing to do with this. I do believe whoever packed this might be in rush, or he/she might forget checking it before packing. - That is still okay for me. I don't complain anything about the opened box. However, when I checked the accessories which are supposed to be enclosed in the package, there are two AAA batteries for the receiver missing. I was so excited to try this product on my camera in middle of the night, but I didn't have that kind of batteries in my house. So, I had to go to Alberson to buy a pack of AAA batteries. - The batteries used for this remote control are not regular like other reviews mentioned. The one used for the transmitter is a 12V/23A battery, and two AAA 1.5V batteries for the receiver. That is still okay since this product takes less power consumption, and I am sure you can find those batteries of any stores. - The manual is too basic, and you have to guess sometimes. For example, it does always remind you to turn the receiver off before plug in the camera, but it doesn't show you how to turn off. No sign of ON/OFF on both the product and the picture in the manual. I had to guess, and I think I'm right. ON is up, OFF is down. - Be careful when you insert the batteries for the receiver because it confused and illogical. Follow the sign (+/-). The two springs are on the same side, so only one is right. - I felt a little bit scared when plug this remote control in my Canon 5D at the beginning. I don't know if this problem happens to mine only or not, but it's not easy to plug the cable in. The three hand-holds (I hope I am correct) are little bit over or under-sized to plug in easily. However, you can push it harder, just make sure you don't break anything. - One thing I would suggest the manufacturer about this particular remote is that it would be so nice if it had the 2s shutter. It's still great because it is tiny enough to hide in hand, yet it's still better if it has that function.Well! You can tell after reading my super long review ever that this product is the best. Like I said at the beginning, I would talk about my purchase and the product, not the product only. So, you still see a lots of cons, but they're all about the packing and batteries missing or something I suggest to make it better. If I had talked about the quality and the product only, I would have had nothing to complain.For this product, I am willing to pay even more. So, if you are looking for a good remote control for your Canon, get this and you won't regret for sure!Highly recommend this!

I occasionally use a wireless remote and didn't want to spend alot of money on a wireless trigger. I bought this one to go with my Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III - and I had occasion to use it. It worked great when I had to take a group photo that I was part of. Unlike the self timer, I could join the group and fire off a series of photos holding the Remote Trigger in the palm of my hand where it would not be seen. I did not test the range but the use I had was from 20 feet.
